For the first time in 60 years, Nokia logo change! why Details

Nokia launched its new logo at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2023. Nokia has changed its logo for the first time in almost 60 years. The launch of the new logo marks a new shift as the smartphone maker has announced a new strategy to focus on its B2B.

Nokia's blue logo and typeface have been ditched in favor of a modern-looking design. This new logo will have different background colors, depending on the usage context. "Smartphones have an affinity and we are a business technology company these days," Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark said in an interview with Reuters.

Nokia's new strategy

Lundmark said in a blog post, "We're updating our strategy and we're also refreshing our brand to reflect our strategy today: a business-to-business technology innovation leader pioneering the future where networks meet the cloud..."It is said that it is going to be like that.

The Nokia CEO stated that the new logo reflects the brand's current identity, which focuses on sustainable and profitable growth. Lundmark first worked for Nokia from 1990 to 2000. Then he took a long break of 20 yearsCurrently, he rejoined the company in 2020 to revive the struggling company and bring it back to growth.

Now, the Nokia chief has adopted a new strategy that consists of three phases. Reset, scale and accelerate. Lundmark announced that the reset phase is over and the company is now preparing for the scale phase. The brand currently plans on "delivering strong growth and sustainable profitability" as the company expands its customer base.

While Nokia Telecom will continue to sell devices to other companies, the brand hopes to shift its focus to other businesses as well. "We want to launch this brand with a new strategy that focuses more on networks and industrial digitalization, something completely different from legacy mobile phones," Lundmark announced in an interview with Bloomberg.

But, is the iconic old Nokia logo gone forever?

Although Nokia is introducing a contemporary-looking logo to suit the rebrand, the company's classic blue logo has not been completely removed. In 2016, HMD Global acquired a license to use the Nokia trademark. It became the "sole global licensee" for all Nokia branded tablets and mobile phones.

According to a Nokiamob report, HMD Global has confirmed that the blue logo will not change. "HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, will continue to use the classic Nokia logo," the company said. The brand continues to release smartphones with the classic Nokia logo, the company recently launched the Nokia G22 phones
